RVs

After depositing our folding chairs on the flightlight in the Warbirds area, we headed straight for Homebuilt Parking and Camping to see the RVs.

Here is a beautifully built RV-10.

Vans Aircraft did not have a booth at SNF.

I could only marvel at the fantastic workmanship on this Ten.

I only got a quick look at this RV-8 from the tram but I give it best paint scheme of SNF.

Check out that futuristic wingtip and lighting on this RV!

There is no air scoop on this RV.  How does the engine get air?  The nostrils by the spinner are for cooling.  Maybe air is ducted down to the carburator or throttle body?

Does this RV have a polished aluminum cowl?  Sure does look like it.

Homebuilt camping with the Blue Angels parked in the background.  Attendance at Homebuilt parking and camping was pretty sparse, I must say.  And most of those were RVs.

Nice paintjob on this RV-6..

I liked the gold color on this one.

This RV-6 needs some more question marks and it could be called "The Riddler"!

We talked with the owner/builder of this RV-9, based in Midland, Texas.  Notice the outboard leading edge.  Like the inboard, it is also a fuel tank.  The owner likes to get high, go fast, and fly a long way.

That's the owner at right.

Now this RV has an airscoop.  But it also has a nosegear and three-bladed prop.  How does the owner get the lower cowl on and off?
